Clock runs out and Trump WON'T meet with Boris Johnson in London

U.S. President Donald Trump began talks Friday with British Prime Minister Theresa May at her retreat in Chequers, after a rather frank interview he gave to a newspaper that renounced her Brexit plan.

His highly controversial remarks came at the end of a day in which he had already waded deeply into the Brexit row over May's Brexit vision.

The long-awaited document proposes keeping Britain and the European Union in a free market for goods, with a more distant relationship for services.

He suggested that a trade deal between the USA and United Kingdom could be at stake.

Britain's former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson arrives for a Cabinet meeting in London, May 1, 2018.

The figures were revealed after Mr Trump criticised Theresa May's Brexit plans in an interview with The Sun newspaper, saying they would "kill" any chance of a trade deal with the US.

And then there's the royal moment that the world will be watching on Friday: the moment that Trump meets the Queen.

Trump denied criticizing May, despite clearly doing so in the Sun interview, and called out the reporters for "fake news" even though the Sun is owned by Rupert Murdoch. This would not be possible under the Brexit plan she unveiled to ministers last week.

He also told the tabloid that he had shared advice with May during Britain's negotiations with the European Union, but said May ignored his advice.

A much-ballyhooed balloon of Trump as a snarling baby in diapers flew over the houses of Parliament for a couple of hours, with hundreds of people cheering as it floated upward and organizers hoping to bring it to other stops on Trump's tour of Britain, especially Turnberry in Scotland, where he will play golf at his resort Saturday. "I actually told Theresa May how to do it but she didn't agree, she didn't listen to me", Trump said.

"I think our Prime Minister should have the confidence to speak to the US President on equal terms and it's for President Trump to say what he wants about me", Khan told iTV. But I told her how to do it.

"She should negotiate the best way she knows how, but it's too bad what's going on", Trump said.

"Unfortunately, there was a story that was done which was generally fine but it didn't put in what I said about the Prime Minister and I said a tremendous thing", he said.

"And those Tories saying we should respect him simply because he is elected President - by that logic shouldn't he respect our Prime Minister & London's Mayor?" tweeted Anna Turley, a Labour MP from Redcar.Trump is a racist & disrespects our nation.

In an antagonistic interview with The Sun, the United States president lashed out at Sadiq Khan, accusing him of doing a "terrible" job, claimed Boris Johnson would make a great Prime Minister and made it clear he was very aware of the giant inflatable Trump baby due to fly above Parliament today - and would be avoiding London.
