The former Hull City defender has been integral in England's run to the semi-final of the World Cup and his performances at the back have been widely lauded.

"Pep [Guardiola] is a big manager, he's won a lot of things and made history with this club".

The African star was expected to join City in January this year, but after the Foxes struggled to find an adequate replacement for the winger in time before the window closed, the player remained at Leicester.

His showing in Russian Federation has led to speculation over his future at Leicester, with England's top clubs believed to be keen on snaring him away from the King Power Stadium.

Maguire, who started his career at Sheffield United and has worked his way up into the Premier League, was not only an eye-catching performer defensively, but he showed he was a real menace from set-pieces, and he scored a sublime headed goal against Sweden in England's 2-0 quarter-final win.

Guardiola already has an impressive number of attacking choices to pick from with Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane firing City to 100 points with a record 106 goals last season.

"I am confident I can help the team and make an impact", he said.
