Ian Wright Mocks Roy Keane's Irish Accent During On-Air Spat

Ian Wright Mocks Roy Keane's Irish Accent During On-Air Spat

The spat came after Keane claimed his English co-pundits "got ahead of themselves" by daring to dream about football coming home.

During the bitter row, Keane said: "Before the game, all the talk was about the final".

Keane suggested that England's "It's Coming Home" banter meant everyone had got a little carried away before playing Croatia. This game can kick you where it hurts, and England will have to suffer that tonight.

Former Republic of Ireland captain Keane accused Wright of "embarrassing" himself after the former Arsenal striker appeared to mock Keane's Cork accent. Stones is ball-watching, and then when the ball goes in he's looking at people saying nobody gave me a shout - you're not going to get a shout in a World Cup semi-final!

Wright tried to defend the excitement that had engulfed the country during the build-up to Wednesday's match, although Keane wasn't having any of it.

Did England fans get overexcited about their run to the semi-final of the World Cup?

Ed Miliband, the former leader of the Labour Party, said: "Roy Keane is just very bad I am sorry".

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari demanded that the security of contesting candidates be ensured. Mr Bungalzai said Siraj Raisani, who was running for a provincial seat with the Balochistan Awami Party, was among the dead.

Keane escalated matters further, telling Wright: "You've embarrassed yourself".

For Wright, it was just a symptom of England fans being happy.

"The fact is we were happy, and you weren't happy with us being happy".

The former Manchester United player is being ridiculed for his orange glow online, with supporters comparing him to Umpa-Lumpas. You know how hard it is to get to these finals or even get to the World Cup.

Keane, never one to let a potential dust-up pass, wasn't letting Wright forget that 1966 world champions England had been sent packing.

Let's hope Wrighty and Keano are sat next to each other on the plane home from Russian Federation.
