Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton watch Serena Williams compete in Wimbledon final

Serena Williams vowed to use the pain of her shock Wimbledon final defeat against Angelique Kerber to fuel her bid for future Grand Slam glory. "Kerber is playing at the top of her game".

Kerber is seeking to add a first Wimbledon title to her Australian and U.S. Open victories, which both came in 2016. I think I'm the next one after Steffi who won.

If you watched the video, Serena's quote was a little different than what the @Wimbledon tweet reads. "I can, you know, come out and be a contender to win Grand Slams". I really can't describe it, to be honest.

About 10 months after having a baby, Serena Williams plays in the Wimbledon final against Angelique Kerber.

And when she swung her racket, the measure was nearly always true. "To all the moms out there, I was playing for you today and I tried". And she totally did. There were certainly several miracles of speed as she chased down shot after shot, forcing the American into numerous errors, as she became the first German to win a Wimbledon singles title since Graf in 1996.

She showed immediately why she's considered a superb returner.

This is not the first time Meghan, who is friends with Serena, attended the tennis championships.

Queen attends Westminster Abbey service to commemorate RAF's centenary
The royals were greeted at the abbey doors by the Dean and Chapter of Westminster, before taking their seats. Led by the Queen, the royals were attending a service to mark the centenary of the Royal Air Force .

To be perfectly honest, I haven't thought about that this tournament.

"I was really happy to get this far", Williams said after the match.

"I look forward to it". I'm only just getting started.

"I don't know. We'll see".

FRIDAY'S KEY RESULTS: Men's semifinals: No. 8 Kevin Anderson beat No. 9 John Isner 7-6 (6), 6-7 (5), 6-7 (9), 6-4, 26-24; No. 12 Novak Djokovic leads No. 2 Rafael Nadal 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (9) - match suspended due to curfew.

Following another two months away from competition, she entered the French Open in late May, and won three matches before pulling out before the fourth round because of an injured pectoral muscle. Two unforced errors helped Serena to break back at love and level at 2-2. Kerber and Williams faced-off in the 2016 finals, where Williams was victorious.

This time around, the royal in-law opted for a long-sleeved number with a Little House on the Prairie influence. By the time the first set was over, the disparity was 14-3.
