Russians went after Clinton emails after Trump asked

One day after the United States charged 12 Russian military intelligence officers with hacking into Democratic campaign and state election operations in 2016, President Donald Trump suggested the Obama administration was responsible.

Trump's first response to special counsel Robert Mueller's initial charges against Russian government officials for interfering in American politics came in tweets the president posted while at his golf resort in Scotland, two days before a high-stakes summit in Finland with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

The Associated Press took to Twitter to share the news shortly after 5pm on Friday.

"President Trump should cancel his meeting with Vladimir Putin until Russian Federation takes demonstrable and transparent steps to prove that they won't interfere in future elections", said Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer.

Rosenstein said during the announcement: "The internet allows foreign adversaries to attack America in new and unexpected ways".

Before the indictment was announced, Trump vowed to raise the issue of Russian meddling in US elections with Putin.

USA intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian Federation, in an effort ordered by Putin, used propaganda and hacking to meddle in the election in an effort to harm Clinton and eventually help Trump.

Kovalev is accused of targeting a state voter system in the U.S. In July 2016, he allegedly hacked the website of an unnamed state board of elections and stole information for 500,000 voters. With the new indictment, his office has filed charges against 32 people on crimes ranging from hacking to money laundering to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

He suggested that a trade deal between the USA and United Kingdom could be at stake. "I know Kristen Wwlker". Trump then called on Fox News correspondent John Roberts and called Fox "real news".

Precisely what USA intelligence agencies and former President Barack Obama knew of the Russian officials' alleged actions at the time is unclear.

The deputy attorney general said the conspirators used fictitious online personas, including "DCLeaks" and "Guccifer 2.0", to release thousands of stolen emails beginning in June 2016.

The indictment also provides insight into how the Russians who worked for the St. Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency meddled in the USA political process through social media.

Mueller is investigating whether Trump's campaign colluded with Russian Federation and whether the president has unlawfully sought to obstruct the Russian Federation investigation.

White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters stressed the indictments against the Russians contained no allegations of intentional involvement by anyone on the Trump campaign. Jobs are at an all time record - and that is before we fix some of the worst trade deals and conditions ever seen by any government.

Republican Senator John McCain said the summit should be called off if Trump is not ready to warn Putin there is a "serious price to pay for his ongoing aggression towards the United States and democracies around the world".

In August 2016, the indictment says, "the Conspirators, posing as Guccifer 2.0, sent a reporter stolen documents pertaining to the Black Lives Matter movement, The reporter responded by discussing when to release the documents and offering to write an article about their release".

But Trump has continued to characterize it as such, even though Rosenstein briefed him on the pending indictments before the president left for a trip to Europe, which could include a one-on-one meeting with Putin.
