British rescue diver threatens Elon Musk with lawsuit for 'pedo' tweet

British rescue diver threatens Elon Musk with lawsuit for 'pedo' tweet

"He had no conception of what the cave massage was like", said Unsworth of Musk.

"The sub I believe was five or six feet long, rigid, so it wouldn't have gone around corners or around any obstacles. It wouldn't have made the first 50 metres into the cave. just a PR stunt".

The unfounded claim came after Unsworth called Musk's miniature sub a "PR stunt".

Musk responded Sunday in a weird series of tweets referring to Unsworth, without using his name, as "pedo guy".

British caver Vernon Unsworth, who aided in the rescue of the 12 boys and their football coach last week, was attacked online by Musk yesterday.

"Only people in sight were the Thai navy/army guys, who were great". Musk personally arrived at the scene of the rescue operation, but nearly immediately he was asked to leave the scene.

Recall, Elon Musk showed a video of a mini-submarine designed specifically to assist in the rescue of children stuck in the cave Tham Luang in Thailand. "He implied that it was "sus" [suspect] for a British ex-pat to be living in Thailand", and wrote "Sorry pedo guy you really did ask for it".

Here are some of the responses his tasteless attack on Unsworth garnered on Twitter.

That challenge will be followed by a rest day on Monday before the race shifts to its first mountain stages in the Alps. However, both Gaviria and Greipel were later disqualified.

The Musk tweet came after Unsworth dismissed his child-sized submarine meant to aid efforts to save a group of Thai children as a "PR stunt".

Vern Unsworth said he was "astonished and very angry" at the Tesla co-founder's comments on Twitter which have now been deleted. The sub was quickly built and tested using SpaceX components and engineers, with the process extensively documented and shared by Musk. "Unsung heroes here", Vox quoted Musk's tweet.

Asked if he would take legal action against Musk over the allegation, he said: "If it's what I think it is yes".

Meanwhile, in a video taken of the boys recovering in a hospital, they speak in Thai mixed with some English, introducing themselves and thanking their rescuers.

In a tweet he said Ostanakorn was "described inaccurately as "rescue chief" and "is not the subject matter expert" (the Columbus Dispatch reports that Ostanakorn holds a Master's degree from Ohio State University, where he studied geodetic engineering and surveying).

A Thai military official told the New York Times that the mini submarine could be useful in some future rescue mission in open water.

Meanwhile, Musk made a decision to attack the diver who criticized his ill-fated submarine.
