Microsoft will announce 'all-new Xbox hardware' at gamescom

We've seen some big sales this season, ranging from the Steam Summer Sale to the PlayStation Mid-Year Sale. These deals both only last for the next 14 days (August 1st) so be sure to take advantage while it lasts. Microsoft did, however, confirm that it will have new Xbox One bundles and accessories to unveil at the show along with some incoming games.

In related news, Microsoft teased that they'd be showing "new Xbox One hardware", at Gamescom before later amending that to read as "new bundles and accessories" after getting people hot and bothered. The company launched its accessibility-focused Xbox Adaptive Controller earlier this year.

The details: Microsoft gave a small preview of what to expect from its visit to this year's Gamescom, to be held in Germany in late August. The live stream will be broadcast on Tuesday, August 21st at 10:30 AM ET. More importantly, though, is that it has a lineup of "25 games across a diverse range of genres" to show at its booth during the show.

Tooth found in teenager likely bitten by shark off Long Island coast
A 13-year old boy and a 12-year old girl were injured in an apparent shark attack off the Fire Island shore in NY yesterday. He was taken to Southside Hospital. "We were at the beach and there wasn't a tiger or anything", she said, laughing.

Forza Horizon 4, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and State of Decay 2's Daybreak Pack 2 are all name-checked, though.

This won't be the first time that Microsoft isn't organizing a press conference at Gamescom - back in 2016 the company also ditched its media briefing. Should they have a brand new console in the near (ish) term, they may alienate the die-hard fans who've bought the newer Xbox One X, though savvy consumers would now that they - like PS4 Pro owners - bought a stop-gap system.
