Trump and Putin meet for high-stakes summit

U.S. President Donald Trump and Finnish President Sauli Niinisto have met at a breakfast at the Finnish presidential residence in Helsinki on Monday morning.

He wrote, "America and the European Union are best friends, whoever says we are foes is spreading fake news".

Although Trump told Glor he does not have any expectations for his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he did say, "I think we're greatly hampered by this whole witch hunt that's going on in the United States".

The European Union is a "foe" of the United States because of "what they do to us in trade", President Donald Trump said Sunday. And following the president's press conference, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats again reaffirmed that the intelligence community's assessment remains unchanged.

He revealed that he had not thought about asking for the extradition of 12 Russians indicted for allegedly meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump's national security adviser, John Bolton, called the Russian interference a "serious matter" and said Sunday he was skeptical of Putin's claims that he had no knowledge of it.

"Russia, If you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing", Trump said that day.

"I saw two leaders today who can agree with each other", Konstantin Kosachev, head of the foreign affairs committee of Russia's upper house of parliament, said on Rossiya-1.

"I've been saying, and I'm sure you've heard over the years.that getting along with Russian Federation is a good thing not a bad thing", Trump said, seated next to Putin at the start of talks in an ornate presidential palace in neutral Finland.

He said that his meeting with Putin "might be the easiest of them all" amid controversy over his handling of a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation agreement on increased defense spending and trade talks with U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May.

However, he has reportedly said that the grope was an accident and happened when he tried to move Holden from out of his path. At that point, a man holding a drink casually makes his way over, seemingly bothered by what just happened at the restaurant.

When asked last month if he would recognize Russia's 2014 annexation of Ukraine's Crimea, he replied: "We're going to have to see".

He made the comments in an interview with CBS that aired on Face the Nation, during a visit to Europe that has tested relations with some of the U.S.'s most important allies. We should have known how closely the press would pay attention to the two leaders' first in-person words to each other, and we were remiss in not suggesting some things to the president to say that would seize the upper hand in the battle for attention. "I think the world really wants us to get along".

In a series of tweets, Trump blamed the media for inflating expectations for the meeting with Putin.

"Frankly, I think he'll take advantage of this president", Warner said Sunday.

"We'll be talking about Syria", he said. Russian Ambassador Jon Huntsman said recently that the meeting itself is a deliverable.

Ultranationalist lawmaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky was among those brushing off new indictments of Russians accused of hacking the 2016 US presidential campaign, calling it implausible that a dozen Russians could have damaged the American electoral system. "We've all been foolish", he said, before veering into a discussion about his election victory.

Certain NATO allies fear Putin might seek a grand deal that would undermine the USA -led transatlantic alliance.

Trump and Putin held a private, one-on-one meeting that lasted two hours, CBS News reported. "We are puzzled with many aspects of these investigations in the part that concerns us and our country, but let's leave it behind the brackets".

"We can no longer completely rely on the White House", Heiko Maas told the Funke newspaper group.
