Conor McGregor returning to the UFC in October for lightweight title bout

McGregor is unhappy at Nurmagomedov holding a title he believes is his and, having last fought in UFC in November 2016, "Notorious" is ready to return.

For McGregor (21-3), it will be his first MMA fight in almost two years and first time in fighting action since his professional boxing debut during a heavily-hyped fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. last August - which he lost via TKO in the 10th round.

His lightweight title was stripped and subsequently claimed by Nurmagomedov in April.

The 30-year-old later turned himself into police and last month pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, meaning he will serve five days of community service and undergo anger management classes.

Here, Press Association Sport looks at the key questions as the pair prepare for what has been billed as the "biggest fight in UFC history" by president Dana White.

Nurmagomedov's last fight was held on April 7, defeating in the title fight American realtor al Iaquinta.

Trump agrees to let insurers sell cheaper health plans than ObamaCare
The administration estimates that premiums for a short-term plan could be about one-third the cost of comprehensive coverage. Enrolment for the law's subsidized private insurance is fairly stable, and HealthCare.gov insurers are making money again.

Considering those factors, putting McGregor and Nurmagomedov anywhere near each other could be like tossing a lit match into a Value-Added Tax of gasoline, but White promises that they'll have everything under control ahead of UFC 229.

The UFC 25th Anniversary Press Conference aired live on YouTube on Friday afternoon from The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.

In the lead-up to the fight announcement, Nurmagomedov repeatedly stated that if he was in the same room as McGregor that they would end up clashing long before stepping into the Octagon together.

"It's time to roll", Diaz said following his own two-year absence. "I don't know why nobody told you guys that". "It's good to have Nate back".

McGregor and Nurmagomedov will meet in the main event of the UFC 229 pay-per-view show at T-Mobile Arena, the same spot where Mayweather stopped McGregor in the 10th round of their one-sided fight. "I've never turned down a fight in my life", Diaz said.
