OSU football coach Urban Meyer says he followed protocol

OSU football coach Urban Meyer says he followed protocol

"I said, 'That's fine, you should tell Urban.' I know Shelley did everything she could". However, Urban Meyer claims that he did not know about Zach Smith's abusive behavior until now, and fired him when he found out.

Courtney alleges that Shelley knew about the domestic violence since 2009.

Meyer said in Chicago that he knew of a 2009 incident involving Zach Smith and his now ex-wife, Courtney, but said he knew nothing about a 2015 incident.

We don't know what the future holds for Meyer, of course.

The key part in there from Smith: "I went to practice, Urban pulled me off the practice field and said 'What the hell is going on?"

Meyer told him that "if I find out you hit her, you're done", Smith recalled his boss saying.

Smith continued to work for the Florida football team.

Regarding the photos that show bruises and blood on Courtney Smith, Zach Smith said Friday during an interview on Columbus, Ohio, radio station WXZX: "I'm not discounting that (they are authentic)". I said, 'Apparently my ex-wife is trying to get me charged with domestic abuse from incidents that happened throughout our marriage. He needed to make decisions based on those facts, I don't think it was his job to investigate, to ask questions, to talk to her; he only had to talk to me, because he already got the other side of the story from the incident report.

Zach Smith was sacked last week after an OH court granted a domestic violence protective order to Courtney Smith. And that's why your statement and Zach Smith's coinciding interview on ESPN can only be perceived as a pitifully orchestrated PR ploy to save your job.

"In 2015, I came forward with it. I spoke to her on the phone", Courtney Smith told Stadium. When it came out, Ohio State issued a no-comment: "We are not going to comment at this time on the situation regarding Zach Smith". Like I said, it was a toxic relationship.

Smith told ESPN in a separate interview he never assaulted his wife and any physical injuries she might have suffered were the result of him defending himself. And the only reason he fired Zach Smith is because a really good reporter - McMurphy - made it public.

Facebook also said the new dating feature is a free service for all users and will not include ads while in use. Mr Zuckerberg said his aim for the tool is to create "real, long-term relationships" and "not just hook-ups".

"When I stood up to him, he didn't like it. I take that responsibility very seriously and any suggestion to the contrary is simply false".

Smith maintained his innocence, saying he has never been charged by police in OH and that nothing he did warrants it.

As far as Meyer's knowledge of what happened, Smith said everyone surrounding the Ohio State football program knew about his marital issues.

As for Meyer's denial at the Big Ten media days in Chicago of what was happening, Smith said, "To be honest, that's all confusing to me".

Meyer has said that if he had known he would have fired Smith back then itself. At that point, Ohio State knew of at least two accusations of domestic violence against Smith.

Meyer issued his first remarks about the situation in a statement on Twitter Friday evening.

"My intention was not to say anything inaccurate or misleading", he said, in part. "However, I was not adequately prepared to discuss these serious personnel issues with the media, and I apologize for the way I handled those questions".

Meyer said he was ready to answer questions from school investigators looking into the matter. Urban Meyer, a coaching legend, may soon have his career snapped short. This wasn't just some random coach Meyer had hired in the past couple of years. This includes the National Championship in 2014.

University police also opened an investigation on August 19, 2014; that investigation was closed at the request of the diver, according to a university spokesman. The Buckeyes vacated 12 wins from their 2010 season after the episode. "They all did. Every single one".

Since Ohio State announced an independent investigation in April, more than 100 former students have come forward with accounts of sexual misconduct by Strauss.
