Barack Obama Day celebrated for the first time in IL

Last year, law makers in IL unanimously passed a measure that established August 4 as a state holiday in honor of Obama, who began his political career in Chicago as a community organizer before becoming a state senator and then a US senator from IL.

An Illinois state law signed past year marks August 4 in honor of the 44th president.

President Donald Trump touted his approval numbers in a Sunday afternoon tweet that also pointed to the economy and military, while claiming he had "better numbers" than former President Barack Obama "by far", though he did not specify which numbers he was addressing. The former president celebrates turning 57 today, August 4, and Michelle posted a heartfelt message on social media in his honor. So yes, today, the former POTUS is celebrating his 57th birthday.

American Airlines Flight 1942 , which left Charlotte, North Carolina, at 8:56 p.m. on Monday night, arrived at the Queens, New York , hub at 10:44 p.m.

"Our lunches together were a highlight of every week at the White House". It is a commemorative holiday rather than a state holiday, meaning that schools and government workplaces will stay open. "Happy birthday to my brother, my friend, @BarackObama".

So, happy Barack Obama day!

Others who took to social media with special messages for the former United States president included his former VP Joe Biden, celebrities Justin Timberlake, John Legend among others. "Last week's trip to Dog Tag Bakery was no different". "Happy birthday Mr. President", wrote one user. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.
