Yerry Mina relishing Everton challenge

Marco Silva's Everton looked to be heading into the 2018-19 season having only strengthened with Richarlison and Lucas Digne, but on Thursday they found agreements with Barcelona for Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, while Brazil global Bernard signed on a free transfer following his Shakhtar Donetsk departure. However after the initial loan Southampton will have an obligation to buy the Englishman for £20 million.

Yet Mina failed to impress in making just six appearances for Barca after joining from Palmeiras in January, and the Catalan giants were keen to cash in on the 23-year-old, who cost just 11.8 million euros seven months ago.

Everton will pay Barcelona £2m for the season long loan and will also pay the player's wages.

They would have to conclude an agreement with Manchester United and rush Rojo through a medical, with Everton retaining an option to submit a deal sheet to the Premier League to earn more time to complete the transfer. It is the best league in the world.

New Everton defender Yerry Mina says that he wants to win things with the Blues. "When I found out about this opportunity and what the manager wanted out of me I was happy". I know about Everton's players and I look forward to being able to play with my new team.

United legend fears Mourinho could quit United over City dominance
Any hope with which Manchester United supporters woke up on transfer deadline day has quickly been quashed by Jose Mourinho . However, they finished 25 points back in the league as Pep Guardiola's men romped to the title with a record 100 points .

Earlier in the day, the Toffees snagged Bernard on a four-year contract, the Brazilian winger being a free agent after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk when his contract elapsed at the end of last season... "I am also determined to do my best for Everton".

Another addition from the Nou Camp, midfielder Andre Gomes, joined on a season's loan.

The 25-year-old joined Barcelona in a £42m deal in 2016, less than a fortnight after helping Portugal win the European Championship.

"The manager made me feel confident about playing here".
