Chelsea 'have to improve' to achieve Premier League success - Maurizio Sarri

In the opener, the Blues cruised to a 3-0 win at Huddersfield, earning a convincing three points after the team failed to impress during the preseason.

The Italian's footballing philosophy was widely praised during his time in charge of Napoli, with the so-called "Sarri-ball" system helping the club to push Juventus all the way in the Serie A title race last season.

Those problems, Sarri admits, could come in the form of bad results - and the 59-year-old former Napoli coach, whose side open their Premier League campaign at Huddersfield today, believes that it might not even be until the second half of the season until his team click into gear.

"It's not always easy to adapt because it's a new style of play, but I think we did well".

"There is a misunderstanding in the feeling that he wants to get a move for the wrong reasons, but certainly he was pushing to go out of Chelsea because of his child", Henrotay told BBC 5 Live's "Sportsweek" radio show.

"We had a very good first half, but we know that Chelsea, when you face a team like this, they are very clinical", Mounie said.

Jorginho, N'Golo Kante, and Pedro all scored in Chelsea's 3-0 win at the John Smith's Stadium, with the Blues in a back four and featuring a new midfield of Ross Barkley, Jorginho, and Kante.

"A disappointing result, not a disappointing performance, especially the first half", the Terriers boss said.

Real Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois has apologised to Chelsea for missing training before his move to the Spanish club and his agent says it is because the Belgium player was "stressed". In the first line, we defended not like we wanted to defend.

"We are not a physical team so for 20 minutes we were in trouble but we did very well", Sarri said. "The best capacity was to suffer, but then I think the second half maybe they were exhausted".

"We're happy because to be honest our pre-season games were not that good", he said. We made too many mistakes and missed our chances.

"The second goal we conceded shortly before half-time is a goal which we should never concede".

"I have seen passion, desire, the spirit, which we usually have in our game".
