Jose Mourinho: Man Utd boss 'not confident' of deadline day signing

The Portuguese manager is well loved by the Wolves fans but it is yet to be seen as to whether he can make the step up to the Premier League this season, and under high expectations, he may buckle.

Crystal Palace will be hoping history doesn't repeat itself after signing Ghana striker Jordan Ayew on a season-long loan from Swansea.

Tottenham Hotspurs was the only team in the league to not have signed any player in the current transfer window.

"When a club pays money it's because it's his value in the market", he said.

For the second consecutive close season, the Toffees forked out sizeable fees to bring in new players, with the arrival of Richarlison in a reported £40million switch from Watford raising eyebrows.

However there were a few clubs hell bent on making sure Jim White could say the words "we're just hearing" with promoted sides Wolves and Fulham amongst the few who did anything of interest, and that was a theme of the whole window.

After the United goal though it was mostly one-way traffic for the visiting side, with David De Gea repeatedly called into action including a miraculous save on a James Maddison shot that should have drawn Leicester level.

Anderson topped qualifier Ilya Ivashka of Belarus 7-5, 6-3, and Dimitrov beat American Frances Tiafoe 7-6 (1), 3-6, 7-6 (4). Tsitsipas will face fourth-seeded Kevin Anderson of South Africa in Saturday's semifinals at Aviva Centre.

Liverpool FC are still looking to win their first trophy since Klopp's appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.

Sergio Romero, Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Dalot, Ander Herrera and Matic are all injured for Leicester's visit, while Mourinho needs to check on the fitness of those that returned late from the World Cup.

Marcus Rashford, Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku made slightly early returns so could be involved on Friday, perhaps helping to boost the mood of a manager who has looked downbeat for much of the summer.

Asked if wining the league title is a realistic goal for Liverpool, Mellor told LFC TV: "Yes, I think so".

Jose Mourinho feels his team braved hard circumstances to get a fine start to Manchester United's 2018-19 Premier League season on Friday. Mahrez, best known for helping guide Leicester to an improbable Premier League win in 2015-16, will likely battle with the likes of Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling for playing time.

After spending more than $250 million on new players since gaining promotion, the newcomers only collected one point between them.
