Honda refreshes Civic sedan and coupe, adds 'Sport' trim

The tenth generation of Honda executive sedan made global debut in 2016 and hence the latest model is just a nip and tuck to keep the product fresh till the arrival of the next generation. New wheel designs round off the styling updates on the returning trims, with 18-inch rims now the norm for the Touring model. This is a big seller for Honda with claims that it is the retail #1 vehicle in America.

Japanese carmaker Honda has updated the Civic sedan that sits between Fit/Jazz and Accord globally. As standard, there's now a front "wing" finished in piano black instead of the chrome bar we saw on the pre-facelift Civic displayed at the Auto Expo, a reworked, more angular front bumper with chrome accents for the fog lamp housings and a chrome strip for the rear bumper.

Moving on to the Civic Sport, the newcomer is slotted above the LX and below the EX.

See, there you go. "I am not opposed to background location tracking in principle", said Berkeley urban planning researcher K. If you do consent to your location being mapped, Google will create a "timeline" of your daily movements .

The new Sport trim for the US-market is positioned between the base model LX and the EX, and is available for both Sedan and Coupe bodies.

Honda is hoping a facelift of its Civic sedan and coupe for the 2019 model year will help carry the auto to its 21st straight year as Canada's best-selling passenger vehicle. Larger 18-inch (+1 inch) 10-spoke alloy wheels with Berlina Black finish complete the Sport's more aggressive look. The global variants get Honda Sensing safety suite standard which includes automatic emergency braking, road departure mitigation, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. The Sport trim features a high-revving 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC VTEC® engine mated to either a smooth and efficient CVT with G-Shift Control or a slick-shifting 6-speed manual.

Pricing hasn't been announced yet for the refreshed 2019 Civic models.
