The flood watch extends into Wednesday, and until it expires, drivers should be alert to the possibility of high water in some places due to consistent rain and storms.

More rain is expected in the East and temperatures continue to soar out West.

By late afternoon weather service radaro showed two bands of storms rolling across the state, one cutting through the states northwestern corner and a weaker storm rolling through Central Massachusetts.

Across the region, Monday is forecast to be hot - with highs in the low 90s.

Storm Team 4's Somara Theodore said that Sunday's rain differs vastly from the Saturday's batch of storms that brought record-breaking rainfall totals. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Rain will come off and on in waves through the day so we will have some periods of dry weather and a chance of some sunshine peaking through and periods of heavy downpours.

The rainy days will continue until the weekend, Lessor said.
