5 a.m. update: Hurricane Florence continues to approach Southeast coast

As a result, two foreign governments and one local government have taken the decision to end their islands' storm warnings or storm watches.

In the Pacific, Tropical Depression Olivia continues to move west away from Hawaii.

The Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency said Wednesday that the territory is prepared for any further developments of Tropical Storm Isaac, as well as for the remainder of the hurricane season. The tropical storm is tracking to the west at 20 miles per hour with top winds of 60 miles per hour with higher gusts.

He also urged councillors to keep a close watch on flood-prone areas in their divisions.

"At this time, Tropical Storm Isaac is not considered an imminent threat to the Cayman Islands but that could change", said Tara Rivers, Minister responsible for HMCI. The Norwegian Escape, now at sea, will skip a call in Bermuda, which is not in the path of the storm but is expecting a lot of rain, and replace it with one in the Bahamas.

The 28-year-old Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs) was ahead by the same score, 87-84, on each scorecard through nine rounds. He was controlling the fight with that jab. "Some very close rounds that could have went either way".

According to the NHC, maximum sustained winds remain near 60 miles per hour (95 km/h) with higher gusts and gradual weakening is forecast during the next few days.

STORM SURGE: The combination of a unsafe storm surge and the tide will cause normally dry areas near the coast to be flooded by rising waters moving inland from the shoreline.

That's almost double the wave heights documented on Tuesday, when the NHC said satellites had observed "an expansive area of wave heights 12 feet or greater" circulating around Hurricane Florence and peak waves of 45 feet near its center.

Isaac has weakened to tropical depression and could degenerate anytime now, but bands of rain from the system are continuing to affect the Lesser Antilles.

The firm's prediction for Florence, which is packing 130-mile-per-hour winds, is that it will now move more slowly, reaching land sometime on Saturday as cooler water temperatures delay its progress westward. Along the coast, large waves will accompany the surge.
