The local Fox television affiliate, KDFW, was roundly criticized for its initial reporting on the release of the report on the search's findings, drawing scorn from figures across the political spectrum for focusing on the marijuana, tweeting: 'DEVELOPING: Search warrant: Marijuana found in Botham Jean's apartment after deadly shooting'.

The attorney and Jean's family also were upset that the news that marijuana was found became public on the same day that his funeral was being held.

"Botham Jean is not here to give his version of what happened because he's dead", said one family lawyer, Benjamin Crump.

Guyger has since been charged with manslaughter and a quick search of her social media reveals some rather offensive posts.

The search warrant does not say to whom the marijuana belongs, which amounts to less than half of an ounce. "We asked the DA if they had even heard that this witness existed and the DA said the Texas Rangers never even mentioned the witness", King tweeted. Others thought the cop left the pot behind because also on the list of items recovered in the search warrant were a police-issued laptop computer and other officer gear. This would not be the first time Fox has attempted to smear a victim of police brutality.

Another attorney for the Jean family, Darryl Washington, said "there is no question this officer should have been terminated".

A search of a crime scene is standard procedure.

Arsenal's Granit Xhaka adds to Newcastle woe
Having found life hard for much of the first half, this contest had the look of one in which Arsenal would normally crumble. Emery also praised Lucas Torreira for giving his team the "balance" it needed after coming on as a half-time substitute.

"The taint on the investigation from the beginning was exposed through that warrant and through that content".

Still, Jean's mother condemned the release of the information about drugs in her son's apartment.

O'Donnell said it would require a full investigation to determine all the factors that went into her shooting Jean, and that one or two details could make a difference. "My son's life matters".

The group peacefully marched through Downtown Dallas, stopping at the Omni Hotel, the Adolphus Hotel, the Statler Hotel, and the offices of the Dallas Morning News, FOX 4 and WFAA before returning to DPD Headquarters.

Search warrants, it should be noted, are court documents and thus are public record.

Attorneys for the family of a man who was killed by a Dallas police officer who said she mistook his apartment for her own are demanding that the officer be fired. She says she mistook his apartment for her home, encountered Jean, and eventually shot him. She said Jean ignored her verbal commands, and she fired two shots, hitting him once in the torso, the affidavit said.

Others say that even though Guyger was in the wrong apartment, she could have had a reasonable belief that she was defending her life and her property.

Jean was taken to Baylor University Medical Center, where he died.
