National Football League defender Davis quits on Bills in mid-game

The former Miami Dolphins CB Vontae Davis was on the field and started for The Buffalo Bills, but was nowhere to be seen come second half. But the biggest opponent on Sunday was the crippling realization that nothing matters and that the football team that plays in Orchard Park will never, ever be good at the sport of American football. But today on the field, reality hit me fast and hard: "I shouldn't be out there anymore", the statement read.

"I meant no disrespect to my teammates and coaches", Davis wrote.

Bills coach Sean McDermott confirmed that Davis decided not to play, but would not comment on whether he left the stadium.

Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander said he had never seen anything like it and called it "disrespectful". "Pop Warner, high school, college, pros". Coming out, they said, 'He's not coming out. He signed a one year contract with Buffalo for $5 million, $2 million of that was guaranteed and another $1.5 million was a signing bonus. But I hold myself to a standard.

Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii; Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn.; and Kamala Harris, D-Calif., also called for the vote to be postponed. Murkowski said that while the allegations "are very old", they "seem to go into fair amount of detail", Sciutto reported .

I also wondered: Do I want to keep sacrificing?

This was an overwhelming decision, but I'm at peace with myself and my family.

"The @Bills defense has only given up 3 points since Vonte Davis retired".
