‘Ignorance makes you very bold’, Ramos slams Griezmann attitude

"Yes, I think so".

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann says he still can't fathom why he was not voted one of the world's top three players by Federation Internationale de Football Association - but hopes winning the "more prestigious" Ballon d'Or will make amends.

In an interview with Diario AS on Monday, Griezmann said that he is now eating at the same table as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

His greatest achievement came in 2018 FIFA World Cup where he propelled France to a sensational final victory in Moscow against Croatia. When I listen to this kid talk I remember players like Totti who have won everything and do not have a Ballon d'Or.

In contrast to FIFA's prize, the Ballon d'Or victor is determined by votes from journalists, and Griezmann described the prize as more prestigious.

But Ramos hit back at the Atletico striker in his press conference before Real Madrid's Champions League clash with Roma on Wednesday evening.

"There are lots of other players emerging and you have the likes of Neymar and Mbappe, but I am a different type of player and know I must continue to improve".

"Being at that table is a vision I have but I also know that I can do better". I want to make them grow and I have confidence in them to make me grow'.

"I seek to be as complete as possible".

"Everyone is free to express their opinion, but I think he should take the advice of (Diego) Simeone, (Diego) Godin or Koke, who represent the values that serve them (Atletico Madrid) well. I've always said he's a good player", Ramos was quoted by Metro UK as saying.

Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema have both made strong starts to the season in Ronaldo's absence but some, including Messi, have said Madrid will still be worse off without the Portuguese.
