Joshua adds weight for boxing title fight against lighter Povetkin

Joshua - whose International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organisation titles will be on the line - weighed in on Friday at 17 stone 8 pounds (111.5 kilograms), whilst 39-year-old Povetkin tipped the scales at 15st 12lbs.

However, he slimmed down for his last bout versus Joseph Parker.

Joshua, 28, knocked out Ukrainian Klitschko at Wembley in April 2017 and the 2012 Olympic champion is returning to the national stadium for the first time for his 22nd professional fight. Povetkin (34-1, 24 KO's), who fought on the undercard, scored a brutal fifth-round KO over David Price.

"Povetkin is risky", Joshua said in the build-up to tonight's fight.

"Skills and technique apart, we both have a big heart and can dig deep", said Joshua.

That one loss, by a unanimous decision, came against Wladimir Klitschko in October 5, 2013, incidentally the same day Joshua was making his professional debut against Emanuele Leo.

Wilder said in a video posted to his Instagram account that he just defeated one of the best heavyweights in the world in Luis Ortiz earlier this year and that he's now coming for the next best fighter in the division. "I know how to fight, but the question is what I can take when it comes back".

"When I fought Klitschko, I was much weaker and in worse shape than I am now", he said.

The champion is the clear favourite but he was taking nothing for granted and said he had trained for a tough fight. My coaches wonder what I'm doing in sparring, so sometimes I'll tell them to hit me because I know how to throw punches.

"It's Chapter Two to a certain degree but I just feel relaxed and calm". So who am I to go undefeated? "It's time to put on a performance".

Anthony Joshua has weighed in about 11 kilograms heavier than Alexander Povetkin ahead of their heavyweight title fight in London.
