UEFA Europa League Report: PAOK v Chelsea 20 September 2018

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has been directly involved in nine goals in his 10 Premier League games against West Ham (6 goals, 3 assists) - against no side has he been involved in more in the competition.

The former Bolton defender, who recently announced his global retirement, hasn't featured for Chelsea this season following the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as Antonio Conte's successor.

Maurizio Sarri played down concerns that Pedro Rodriguez suffered a serious shoulder injury in Chelsea's 1-0 win over PAOK in the Europa League.

"Sometimes you'd notice him in pre-season and in the early games of the season and he'd take a touch back towards his own goal".

Attack: Eden Hazard was rested for the Europa League group stage game after complaining he was exhausted after scoring a hat-trick against Cardiff last time out but the Belgian global is expected to be recalled against the Hammers.

'I haven't spoken to the manager [about the situation] yet.

'I came back a week before the season started against three defenders who'd been back plenty of time before me.

"The Hammers have lost both their games at London Stadium so far this season, but I have a feeling they will turn up for this one".

"Me for example I'm able to play at Schalke in front of 60,000 people regularly now, which helps me a lot in my development as a player". He was on the ball and was active. "I think we will speak soon, just to see where everything is and how the land lies". We predict that Hazard will lineup alongside these ten players.

The Italy global, who is yet to be included in a single one of Sarri's match day squads this season and was left out of the 21-man party that travelled to Greece, tweeted shortly after the final whistle: "I'm fine, I'm not injured".

Mateo Kovacic limped off with an injury in Chelsea's win over Cardiff.
