Nokia 7.1 first impressions: handsome design, speedy camera

It will be available in Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel color options. It's not an unattractive phone by any means, but it's also not going to have the Red Dot people beating down its door. Much like its name implies, this is supposed to be a higher-end alternative to the recently introduced and value-oriented Nokia 6.1 which was created to serve as yet another reliable daily driver capable of delivering consistent performance in virtually every scenario. Nokia will be selling 32GB and 64GB storage models, and both can be expanded via microSD. Here are all the important details related to the Nokia 7.1 that you need to know right now. The Nokia 7.1 is powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 636 chipset, which is similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus. A 3,060mAh battery with fast charging capability keeps the whole package alive.

Android One also guarantees better security thanks to the frequent updates and patches beamed directly from Google. As for the software, the handset is running Android 8.1 Oreo, but since it belongs to the Android One lineup, there are several benefits to this. At the rear, the handset gets a pair of 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel cameras with ZEISS optics and a dual-LED flash.

The single front 8MP camera comes with a new AI assisted portrait mode - we weren't able to test it, but I wouldn't expect excellent results here. It can even add reminder to your calendar. For selfies, you get an 8-megapixel fixed focus snapper on the front.
