Manhunt continues for Palestinian who killed two Israelis in Barkan shooting

Ashraf Walid Suleiman Na'alowa from the village of Shweika near Tulkarem entered the industrial park on Sunday morning, shooting two Israelis and severely wounding a third using a locally produced knockoff of the Swedish Carl Gustav sub-machine gun. Closed-circuit footage from the scene showed a man holding a handgun and wearing a backpack, fleeing down a flight of stairs and then dashing past stunned onlookers.

Army spokesman Jonathan Conricus called it a "terrorist attack" but added that other unspecified factors were involved.

The source said PA security officials believe Na'alwa would be more willing to surrender to Palestinian forces thinking they would be less eager to turn him over to Israel or out of fear that he would be killed during Israeli attempts to apprehend him.

"Later we found another injured woman hiding under a table with gunshot wounds in her upper body", said paramedic Tomer Fine, who was the first responder at the site. He then shot a 54-year-old female victim in the stomach, moderately injuring her, before shooting dead 35-year-old Ziv Hajbi and fleeing the scene.

He was certain the perpetrator would be caught and brought to justice.

Gaza's Hamas rulers and other militant groups praised Sunday's attack, but none claimed responsibility for it.
