The New Doctor Who: 13 Quotes from the 13th Doctor's Debut

Bigger and bolder than ever, this series marks the arrival of Jodie Whittaker - the Thirteenth Doctor, a super-smart force of nature, alongside a team of new and delightful characters.

"Once she steps out in her new costume and with her beaming smile, there is no question that Whittaker is ideal for the role". Jodie is fantastic! The new series of Doctor Who in a sentence is forward thinking, innovative, bold and fearless. Personally not my favorite (nothing will beat "The Eleventh Hour" with Matt Smith's walk through all the Doctors before him) but it still had an added emotional quality to it.

Season 11 of Doctor Who, the world's longest running sci-fi series, hits SA's small screens today. No TARDIS, no sonic screwdriver, just her trying to figure out how to stop an alien race from "hunting" a human being as a target. And just who are Angstrom and Epzo? It didn't come across as revolutionary other than seeing Whittaker in the role-and that's probably a good thing.

The instalment, aptly titled The Woman Who Fell To Earth, saw the Doctor meeting new companions Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) and Graham O'Brien (The Chase UK host Bradley Walsh) after falling from the sky - and realising she was a woman. And that's maybe for the best.

Unai Emery reveals why Mesut Ozil didn’t play against Fulham?
It is very hard but we must prepare, continue improving and show big commitment", said Emery. We worked and, with patience, we knew we could go forward.

However, Whittaker was shy of reaching Christopher Eccleston's debut as the Doctor when the series was revived in 2005. New Time Lord, new look, new best friends, new worlds - and it's about time. "I like that they made it a woman, because usually nowadays shows don't really have girls in them". "Originally, you're like, 'You're not my dad, I don't like you.' And after a while you go, 'You're pretty great, too.'" We can share time". "Whereas there's a slight mythology in the sense if you're a girl, you're a hero for a girl, which is not the case", she said. I ask Whittaker to help me understand how her Doctor will be different, by asking if she could distill her Doctor to just one dominant trait, boil her down to one aspect what it would be.

As for her research for the role, Whittaker says that Chris Chibnall did most of the work for her.

You mean "braces", they tweeted. See, I wasn't brought up in a house that watched it, but obviously being British, Doctor Who is a part of your vocabulary without even realising it.
