Unboxing Every Google Pixel 3 XL + Pixel 3

Google announced the feature on Tuesday during an event in New York City where it introduced the new Pixel 3 smartphone along with a slew of other hardware products.

This marks the third consecutive year for the exclusive partnership, although the Pixel 3 can also be purchased unlocked in the Google store for $799 for the 65 GB version, with the Pixel 3 XL costing $899, according to The Verge.

But what about this years?

Google offers a few use cases for the Home Hub, such as looking up recipes in the kitchen to taking it to your home gym to watch a yoga tutorial while sweating it out. It also has all the usual bells and whistles for a phone, including Bluetooth, USB Type-C and Wi-Fi etc.

What Google, Amazon, and Apple are able to do, which nearly no other company can, is combine enough products and services that a standalone hub starts to make sense on its own, rather than be just an additional expense for convenience.

The successors to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL clock in at 5.5 inches for the Pixel 3 and 6.3 inches for the Pixel 3 XL. There is no headphone jack again on either of these two devices.

Android apps are fully supported on the Pixel Slate, giving you more productivity and entertainment options.
However, both the phones are rated now at IP68 versus the IP67 of the Pixel 2. The power button also doubles as a fingerprint sensor. It will automatically turn off the screen at night, too.

Sony confirms next-generation Playstation console is in the works
The biggest question of all though is when the PlayStation 5, assuming that's what it's called, will be announced and released. It stopped short of calling it a PlayStation 5 , but Sony has acknowledged it's busy creating new video games hardware.

Although Google did not make any announcements about it on-stage, there's a new Chromecast.

Interestingly, Google is bringing its controversial Duplex technology to the Pixel 3 first - although it will roll out to older Pixel devices in time.

"While you can use the Echo Show for a video conference you cannot use the home hub for that", he said. The Google Home mobile app will also be updated with the same dashboard, allowing remote control when you're on the go. While a welcome addition, it's really not something new and, as some long-time Android owners may remember, a feature that used to be part of some older Android phones. It's coming next month to Pixel 3 as well as the rest of the Pixel lineup. This is where Pixel Stand comes in, a new Google-made accessory that acts as a wireless charging dock for the devices. Also, the album cover of the now playing track will be displayed on the screen.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL both come with unlimited Google Photos storage.

The Google Home Hub adds a smart screen to your smart home.

Google's Pixel Slate, meanwhile, comes in at a relatively modest $599, but has only an Intel Celeron under the hood paired with a measly 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for that price.

Plenty of details about the new smartphones have appeared online, although Google has sought to poke fun at the rumours.
