Donald Trump welcomes Kanye West to the Oval Office

Rapper Kanye West had a few things to say when he stopped by the White House for a visit with President Donald Trump Thursday. "He might not have thought he'd have a insane motherf-er like (me)", West said, according to a White House pool report.

Some of Mr. West's proposals might not go far.

West, who collaborates with Adidas on its "Yeezy" line of footwear and apparel, had lunch with Trump in the Oval Office.

West, sitting across from the president at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, went into a almost 10-minute speech, wearing Yeezy boots and his famous "Make America Great Again" hat. "We are cheating on our country, we end up in the cheapest factory ever - the prison system".

"Really, the reason why they imprisoned him is because he started doing positive for the community. It was meant for problems like Chicago". "It's attractive though." He said that Trump had given him (we assume metaphorically) "a Superman cape" to help do good.

Pool reporters were allowed into the Oval Office for a photo op, where West, chatting with Trump as the president sat at the Resolute Desk, talked about his support for the pres.

The president replied, "I'm open-minded".

West also argued that Trump deserved more respect, saying: "if he don't look good, we don't look good". "Not legal guns. We have the right to bear arms".

US investigators working with Saudis, Turkey on Khashoggi's case
Less than a day after saying he was "concerned" for Khashoggi, Trump said he would talk with Saudi officials "at some point ". The Washington Post contributor vanished last week while visiting the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul .

The 10-minute rambling address saw West variously discuss his bipolar condition while complaining he was pressured to stop wearing his red "Make America Great Again" hat.

According to reports, Ye and Recording Academy president Neil Portnow will be in attendance when Trump sign the Music Modernization Act at the White House.

West also proposed that Mr Trump get rid of Air Force One and purchase a hydrogen-powered aeroplane.

During one pause in West's comments, Trump said: "I tell you what that was pretty impressive".

"Only after 2024", West responded.

The hip-hop artist has been harshly criticized by many blacks on the left for working with Mr. Trump. "I just channelled it", the musician said, adding - to gasps from presidential staff - that Trump "might not have expected to have a insane motherf***** like Kanye West supporting him".

The award-winning musician has taken fire from other celebrities for his support for Trump, particularly after his recent appearance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" show. Mr. Trump has blasted the Fed in the past over rising interest rates.
