Nintendo Switch Online Expands its Library of Classic NES Games

There's a lot as the SP version of the game brings us 255 rupees, White Sword, the Magical Shield, Power Bracelet, and Blue Ring. One of the games was a surprise Legend of Zelda variant. With these resources you can pretty much go anywhere and do anything from the very start of the game, which is an interesting approach to opening up a potentially grueling older game to newer players.

This new variant joins NES Open Tournament Golf, Solomon's Key, and Super Dodge Ball in this month's additions to the selection of NES titles available on the Switch.

Over 30 years ago, Nintendo launched the original "Legend of Zelda" - a sprawling, 8-bit epic that captured the hearts of millions of people around the world. The Legend of Zelda is one of the most well-regarded games of all time, and with good reason. A fourth game, The Legend of Zelda was added, albeit with a twist. It is essentially Zelda on steroids.

Better still, the game is free if you're already a paying subscriber to Nintendo Switch Online - the $US20/year service that offers access to a growing library of classic Nintendo Entertainment System games. Apparently, Nintendo wants to make the game a bit more relaxed for any Zelda noobs who might be playing. There's also a Family plan that runs $34.99 for 12 months, for up to eight account holders.
