Six Palestinians martyred in clashes on Israel border

The Israeli army said five protesters were shot dead after breaking through the border fence and attacking an army post, Reuters reported.

Her husband, Aykube al-Rawbi (52), who was in the auto with Aisha, said the vehicle was pelted with rocks when they drove by an illegal Israeli settlement near Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli military said that the demonstrators, numbering around 14,000, had been "hurling rocks, explosive devices, firebombs and grenades" at Israeli troops and at the fence.

RAMALLAH, Palestinian Territories: A Palestinian woman died of her wounds after Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank threw stones at the vehicle she was travelling in, Palestinian security sources and media said Saturday (Oct 13).

A statement said troops "spotted a number of assailants who climbed the security fence in the southern Gaza Strip".

The suspension comes just days after a United Nations-brokered deal to supply the territory with Qatari-bought fuel came into effect.

Abbas says that arranging deals with Hamas is equivalent to recognizing its control over Gaza.

In a rare interview recently, Hamas's Gaza head Yahya Sinwar encouraged world powers to work with it to ease suffering in the strip. "He should spend the rest of his time as the envoy of the U.N. Secretary-General on vacation with his Israeli friends, or traveling at the expense of [U.S. President Donald] Trump or those who fund this moral and political digression, in which he has drowned".

Fifty other protesters were wounded when Israeli forces opened fire on the crowds with live bullets.

The gruesome murder on two Israeli Jews at the Barkan Industrial Park near the town of Ariel in Samaria on Sunday was apparently planned. Most of the Palestinians were killed during border demonstrations, though others died in air strikes and tank shelling.

However thousands again gathered Friday in sites along the border.

The Palestinian protesters are demanding an end to an Israeli and Egyptian blockade on the narrow coastal strip, which is home to around two million Gazans.

They added that Hamas leader Ismail Haniya also attended the protests east of Gaza City and hailed the ongoing demonstrations.
