Huawei unveils Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, takes aim at Apple, Samsung

So, before going into the Huawei Mate 20 series details, let's know how you can watch the live stream of the event from London.

The Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design is also available starting today, assuming you can afford it.

In terms of what's powering both devices is a Kirin 980 processor coupled with either 4 or 6GB of RAM on the Mate 20 and 6GB on the Mate 20 Pro.

During a recent interview with MobileSyrup, Peter Gaudin, Huawei's global senior product marketing manager, explained that the Mate series is for people who "see technology as a way of getting ahead of everyone else".

In addition to this, the Huawei Mate 20 also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. the Mate 20 Pro, on the other hand, features an in-display fingerprint sensor.

But the star of the show is really the Kirin 980 chip set, with dual-NPUs inside that Huawei says can process images and analyse scenes in real time faster than any phone.

The MateBook D is a bit bigger than the MateBook X Pro, featuring a 14-inch display with an 81% screen-to-body ratio with 5.2mm bezel which is quite narrow for a laptop.

An enquiry has been launched for "aggravated manslaughter". "The shooter went into deep shock when he realised what he had done". According to the Telegraph , the hunter, who has not been publicly identified, mistook Sutton for an animal.

The Mate 20 Pro will also ship with a 24-megapixel front-facing camera that will allow for face unlocking functionality, WinFuture added.

The Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are also the first Huawei devices to ship with Android 9 Pie, overlaid with its EMUI skin, with a simpler interface and gesture navigation.

You get a triple-lens camera on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

We are just hours out from learning more about Huawei's fall flagship smartphones.

As for the battery, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has a 4,200mAh one, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a 4,000mAh one, so not a huge difference there but one which could work in the Mate 20 Pro's favor.

Unlike the Apple and Samsung flagships, however, the Mate 20 has Leica-engineered triple cameras on the back and an in- display fingerprint sensor on the Pro model. The Pro in particular houses three - 40MP for wide angle, telephoto and a new 20MP ultra wide angle lens, which, complemented by those AI technologies now with 150 scenes recognised, promise to deliver a near-enough professional standard experience for all scenarios.

However, the Mate 20 Pro has a newer chipset, a slightly sharper screen, an extra camera lens and a marginally larger battery, as well as a newer version of Android - at least for now.
