Palestinian killed following Israeli air strikes on Gaza

A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip hit a house in the largest city in southern Israel early on Wednesday, prompting Israeli air strikes that killed a militant in the Palestinian enclave.

"At 4am [01:00 GMT] Israelis in the city of Beer Sheva were running to bomb shelters after a rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip at Israel", the Israeli army said on Twitter.

One rocket landed in the courtyard of a private home in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba, causing serious damage but no injuries.

Israel's defence minister said on Tuesday that months of violent Palestinian protests on the Gaza border can not be allowed to go on, urging cabinet colleagues to back tougher measures.

COGAT, the defence ministry body responsible for Palestinian civil affairs, said Mr Lieberman had ordered the closure of the Kerem Shalom goods crossing and the Erez crossing for people, as well as the reduction of the permitted fishing zone along the Gaza coast to three nautical miles.

Israel's defence minister said Tuesday that the protests could not be allowed to go on.

On a related note, FOX News continues to misreport the staging of Hamas's recurring assaults on Israel as a "protest" against "the Israeli blockade" - the blockade that is meant to prevent terrorists from obtaining the tools of their trade. Those riots came after Israel had allowed into Gaza a large amount of fuel that had been purchased from an Israeli company by Qatar, Hamas' most important sponsor. Israel and Hamas, which controls Gaza, fought a war in 2014.

The rocket attack comes as an Egyptian delegation arrived in Gaza on Tuesday led by Ahmed Abdul Khaleq, an intelligence official in charge of the Palestinian file.

Winning numbers for $667 million Mega Millions jackpot
While California didn't sell the Mega Millions jackpot, Lotto officials tweeted that a 5 of 6 victor was sold in San Francisco. Six little numbered balls were drawn in the Mega Millions on Tuesday night, with a record jackpot of $667 million at stake.

The rioters carried burning tires, Molotov cocktails, hand grenades, rocks and live fireworks, all of which they threw at Israeli soldiers who were stationed on the other side of the border, to secure the region from terrorist infiltration.

Earlier, Conricus told CBN News that Hamas is trying to involve the worldwide community by getting Israel to kill Palestinians.

It has intensified the protests in recent weeks as Egyptian-mediated cease-fire efforts have faltered.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed a devastating response to the continuing border crisis during a weekend cabinet meeting. "If it has sense, Hamas will stop firing and stop these violent disturbances - now", he said.

Since March, 155 Palestinians participating or attending the protests were killed.

He also suspended shipments of fuel that had been trucked daily into Gaza over the previous week under a deal brokered by the UN and backed by the United States, Israel and others.

At the same time, the terror group stepped up its efforts to infiltrate Israel and to abduct Israeli soldiers or citizens, while continuing the digging of terror tunnels under the border with Israel.
