Republic of Ireland 0-1 Wales: Nations League

Assured all the way through, and despite first-half pressure looked entirely confident.

Harry Wilson netted a spectacular free-kick against Manchester United for Derby County in the Carabao Cup a few weeks ago, and the Liverpool loanee produced another mesmerising dead-ball strike in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday evening, as his 58th minute free-kick handed Wales a 1-0 win over Republic Of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium.

Giggs also picked out Ashley Williams for special praise, saying: "It was led by the captain".

"They dug in right to the end".

"The determination pleased me, to not give a goal away". Ashley Williams was outstanding for 90 minutes.

Green Bay Packers beat San Francisco 49ers 33-30
The Green Bay Packers might be without two starting wide receivers for the second consecutive week. Six weeks in and the Packers have yet to play a complete game in its entirety.

Wales are already guaranteed a place in pot two of the draw for Euro 2020 qualifying, and a win against Denmark in their next outing will secure promotion to the top tier of the Nations League.

The Bristol City midfielder was replaced at half-time during the 0-0 draw after complaining of feeling unwell and will not be risked against Ryan Giggs' men.

In the absence of Bale, who is injured, and Ramsey, who announced the arrival of baby twins just before kick off, Giggs handed first starts to 18-year-old Matthew Smith and 19-year-old Tyler Roberts and was rewarded with positive performances.

"He does it in training and funnily enough, when we got the free-kick, I turned around to the bench and said it was a bit too far out", Lampard told Sky Sports last month.

Williams added: 'The gameplan was to pass the ball but we knew it would be very hard and we would have to stand up to an aerial threat. Everyone contributed. It's been a tough week, but this team we showed real character and spirit.
