The 26-year-old, who also reached the semifinals at Wuhan and Beijing, fought from a set down and 4-1 down in the third to defeat fourth-seeded Muguruza, 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-5. "After match point I fell on the floor because I felt so relaxed, that was my instinct to go and lie because I needed to put it away, the emotions".

Zhang, China's number two, will make her debut in the Hong Kong semis tomorrow when she takes on Ukrainian teenager Dayana Yastremska.

When the score was 0:4 Wang Qiang tried to get back in the game but to stop a young Ukrainian woman today, she was not able to do.

Dayana Yastremska completed a sensational week by claiming her maiden WTA Tour title with a 6-2 6-1 thrashing of Wang Qiang in Sunday's Hong Kong Open final.

"I think I played good serves, good returns, and I did everything well today".

Last year's Hong Kong quarter finalist added she was happy soaking up the atmosphere on Centre Court.

Things started to turn in the second set, as Muguruza was broken to 5-5 when she was serving for the match, although she maintained focus and drive to seal the fifth break of the match and gave Kumkhum her third defeat in four career meetings against Top 10 players. I was dropping the ball too short and not finding the corners enough.

Turkish officials have said Khashoggi was murdered inside the consulate, where he went to get documents for his planned marriage. In this February 1, 2015, file photo, Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi speaks during a press conference in Manama, Bahrain.

She added: "I was feeling it and my legs were a bit exhausted but I'm kind of used to it and this wasn't the reason I lost".

She did not appear overwhelmed appearing in her first final, despite saying she had woken up so nervous she could not eat.

Yastremska will receive $163 thousand for the victory.

Next up for the Czech is second-seeded Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, who beat Taiwanese No. 5 seed Su-Wei Hsieh 6-3, 6-4 in the other semifinal.

Zhang will play the second semifinal of the season after she lost in Hiroshima to Amanda Anisimova and in Prague to Petra Kvitova, aiming to clinch the first WTA final since her title run at 2017 Guangzhou.

Yastremska started the second set in much the same style, immediately breaking Wang with a forehand victor.
