LeBron James announced his arrival to the Lakers with a thunderous dunk

James was up to his usual tricks in the season-opener, leading the Lakers in scoring and rebounds with 26 & 12, in addition to six assists, but the Lakers couldn't hang with the Blazers.

Minutes after National Basketball Association superstar LeBron James walked off the court Thursday night following his highly anticipated debut in purple and gold, the four-time MVP shared the key ingredient necessary to resuscitate the legendary but languishing Los Angeles Lakers: Oatmeal.

"Every step along the path is always different and challenging in its own right", James said of starting a new season with a new franchise. "It takes some time to get that chemistry where you can just close your eyes and know exactly where guys are". He added a follow-up 19 seconds later with a one-handed effort.

But despite all the early promise, Portland still managed to ruin the party.

Lillard finished with a game-high 28 points as he and shooting guard CJ McCollum (21 points) ran riot for the Trail Blazers in the second half.

Samsung Launches Galaxy Tab S4, Price & Specs
The Galaxy Tab S4 has a 7,300 mAh battery , which according to the company, provides up to 16 hours of video playback. The Samsung Book2 sports a similar grey aesthetic all around, from tablet to pen, a magnetic keyboard, and kickstand.

Standout performances from Damian Lillard and debutant Nik Stauskas ensured Portland's improbable 16th consecutive win over the Lakers, a record dating back to 2014.

"But both teams had momentum at times throughout the game and they finished it off". "To just figure out one another, figure out what we are good at, figure out what we are not so good at, how we can be better at it".

There's still a long way to go before we can compare the "Meme Team" to the classic Showtime Lakers, but if James has anything to say about it, the Lakers will be heard from this season.

The Lakers face the Houston Rockets on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Action, when the Staples Center will be packed to the rafters.
