Arsenal chief explains decision over Aaron Ramsey contract

Unai Emery would not confirm if Aaron Ramsey has the potential to stay at Arsenal beyond the end of the season, but expects his performances not to drop.

'Then when he can play and available for games in the training, [then] we can think he is okay to play.

"For me now, the most important thing is not to rush". Unai covered all the dimensions that we wanted at the highest level.

The football, the future is tomorrow. "(With) only three days difference between one match and another, you can't do that", added Emery.

With 60 goals and as many assists in 340 appearances since joining the club from Cardiff City as a teenager, his former teammate Jack Wilshere feels the club should be looking to reward the player with the club captaincy - rather than refusing to meet his wage demands.
