Brewers Call Manny Machado a Dirty Player:

The All-Star slugger was fined $10,000 by Major League Baseball on Wednesday, an industry source confirmed, for his footwork in Game 4 of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium that resulted in the Brewers and Dodgers emptying their benches for a brief confrontation. Machado's actions in Game 4 later followed.

"It's a dirty play by a dirty player".

"I was trying to get over him and hit his foot", Machado said in response. "I don't know", Counsell said. "One time is an accident".

"I don't think we're too concerned about any other teams' comments about our players", Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday before Game 5.

Players run through the first-base bag and avoid such collisions all the time, but Machado was in the middle of a frustrating day. And. that the team would continue to focus on winning another game.

Alqasem, 22, was detained at Ben-Gurion Airport upon her arrival on October 2 after she was flagged as a BDS activist. In its ruling, the Supreme Court said the state's evidence was not enough to justify its use of the anti-boycott law.

This is from Game 3 - thanks to a Brewers challenge about whether it was illegal, replay revealed it was against the rules. Brewers manager Craig Counsell said he didn't expect warnings before the game.

But Machado would deny the "dirty player" allegations. "You can say it wasn't on objective, this and that, but it's a dirty play".

Of course, if Machado were having a awful postseason, it would be easier to make all of the criticism stick, but he leads all postseason hitters with nine RBIs and is tied with three other players for the home run lead (three). But one thing we know from seeing the narratives that developed surrounding the Cubs and their players over the past few years is that the blinding spotlight of the postseason makes the things that people see and say just a little stickier. "That's not who I am". Machado got his spikes into Pedroia's left ankle and knee as he slid over the base, and his Orioles had a testy relationship with the Red Sox for the rest of the season.

Throughout the World Series, there's likely to be speculation about Machado's next destination, whether it's Los Angeles, New York or some place else. That's two more opportunities for the fireworks to continue between Machado and the Brewers.
