Dez Bryant Gets His First Practice in with Saints

While Bryant has the opportunity to become the No. 3 wideout in New Orleans with both Meredith and Ginn on IR, it's not even a lock that he'll play in Week 10 against the Bengals after signing on Wednesday.

Bryant acknowledged a setback in a tweet Friday afternoon, writing, "This is the ultimate test".

Bryant was originally planning to make his Saints debut in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but it's up in the air whether he will play at all this season.

In fact, Sharpe on Thursday equated Bryant joining the Saints to the New England Patriots signing James Harrison last season after the veteran linebacker was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Stephen Hawking's wheelchair auctioned for a whopping $393,000
Personal effects of Stephen Hawking, including a signed copy of his 1965 PhD thesis, have raised more than £1.8m at auction. At the auction, a copy "signed" with Hawking's thumbprint raised $89,750 (£68,750), way above the $3,900 (£3,000) estimate.

And any doubts about Bryant fitting into the locker room were addressed as well.

Bryant was unlikely to play this weekend at Cincinnati, regardless, so the Saints don't immediately have to alter their game plan, with Michael Thomas and rookie Tre'Quan Smith as their top two receivers. He is known to have met with Cleveland and Baltimore before his workout with New Orleans this week earned him a spot on a Saints offense that now ranks seventh in the National Football League and is led by the NFL's all-time leader in completions and yards passing.

"I'm going to always be me", Bryant said. I've always been a good guy. He recorded three straight seasons of at least 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns from 2012 to 2014, and he earned Pro Bowl invites in 2013, 2014 and 2016. Bryant came into the workout "a little heavy". "They're my family", Bryant said. You know I still love those guys.

Bryant said he is "not at all" bitter about his departure from the Cowboys, adding, "That chapter's closed. I accepted that and moved on".
