Manchester United's Anthony Martial continues resurgence with France call-up

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been recalled to the France squad following his fine form for the Red Devils over the last month.

The forward has scored five goals in their last four Premier League appearances and he often looked threatening against Juventus on Wednesday night.

Martial, 22, has not featured for France regularly since the European Championship on home soil in 2016, although he did start the 3-1 friendly win away at 2018 World Cup hosts Russian Federation in Saint Petersburg in March.

The Chilean's arrival coincided with a loss of playing time for the French worldwide, who lost a place in France's squad at this summer's World Cup. It is up to his talent, because he has phenomenal talent.

'I knew that for him to become a really top player, he needed to overcome some barriers that I put on the road for him.

France coach, Didier Deschamps said of Martial: "He has incredible potential, but does not always show it regularly". He's experienced both good and bad times, which is also the case for his club.

With Thomas Lemar also absent, Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele, as well as Martial, have been preferred to Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette, while Lyon's Tanguy Ndombele has kept his place in midfield.

"What he's now achieving with Manchester United is closer to what he's able to do regularly".

"We're still talking about a young player who, I hope, is in the process of gaining a certain maturity", Deschamps told reporters.

After threatening to leave Manchester United in the summer, the Frenchman seems to have convinced Jose Mourinho about his quality and has been the in-form attacker over the last few weeks.

Martial netted 17 times in his debut campaign, but he has struggled to find his spark on a consistent basis since Jose Mourinho inherited the reins.

He will be hoping to add to his 18 worldwide caps in Rotterdam next Friday and against Uruguay at the Stade de France on November 20.
