You may want to experiment with a Thanksgiving lunch instead of Thanksgiving dinner on November 22.

The move gives shoppers on the East Coast more shopping time earlier, executives said, and at 6 p.m. local time in its stores on Thanksgiving Day, according to Reuters.

Walmart has taken the wraps off its plans for Black Friday deals, publishing its ad in hopes that shoppers will add those items to their shopping lists.

"It is the biggest shopping and the best shopping day of the year", said Walmart's chief merchandising officer Steve Bratspies during a phone call with reporters. "Whether [people] go online or in stores, we're agnostic to that".

Black Friday is just around the corner, and some retailers are getting started a little early with sales kicking off days or even weeks before the big event.

Deep discounts and free shipping are some of the goodies these retailers are offering to lure customers. Target on November 1 removed its threshold and now is offering free, two-day shipping on all digital purchases through December 22. Walmart also published its circulars for deals online and in-store. That represents a 25 percent increase from a year ago.

The company prides itself on having the lowest prices, and when it comes to Black Friday laptop sales, it's the early leader, with a pair of notebooks selling for under $100.

"Although the rate of online sales growth is accelerating faster than that of physical stores, retailers should put resources behind both to be relevant", said Rod Sides, head of Deloitte's USA retail and distribution team.
