Born Stanley Martin Lieber on December 28, 1922, the native of the New York City neighborhood Washington Heights took the pen name Stan Lee around 1941 while working at Timely Comics, which would eventually evolve into Marvel comics. "I'm proud to have been a small part of his legacy and.to have helped bring one of his characters to life".

The 32-year-old actor took to Twitter to criticise celebrities posted pictures of themselves with the legendary icon. While Marvel eventually grew beyond Lee, many credit his showmanship as a large reason for the company's initial growth and success.

Wonderfully Lee managed to record and shoot cameos for a number of 2019 movies. The unfortunate mistake saw them farewell director Spike Lee, not Stan Lee.
