Prince Louis is all smiles in new family photos with Grandpa Charles

It may be Prince Charles' birthday, but the Cambridge grandchildren steal the show in new portraits in honor of the future monarch turning 70.

The film, "Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70", tracked the Prince of Wales for the a year ago providing an intimate look at Charles as a father and grandfather behind palace walls.

It's been quite a year for the British royal family.

It was a family affair for Prince Charles' official 70th birthday portraits!

On Wednesday, Charles turns 70 and his 92-year-old mother is still serving as Queen.

In the photos released, Prince Charles was spotted with his wife, Camilla, his two sons and his three grandchildren. William spoke about his dad spending even more time with all his grandkids now that he's 70.

GQ's Serena Williams cover sparks outcry, despite simple explanation
Williams' muscular physique has been a polarising topic throughout her brilliant career, littered with titles. However the word woman is written with quotes around it, and that hasn't sat well with fans.

Festivities to mark the milestone occasion began earlier this summer, when Charles threw a garden party at Buckingham Palace for his staff and to celebrate the work of his charities. Seeing them in these photos really shows how many of Kate's gorgeous features the little guy inherited-especially her eyes! "Because when he's there, he's brilliant. but we need him there as much as possible".

According to the Daily Express other highlights from the collection includes "rare letters written to the Queen, images of Prince Charles and Andrew laughing together and a deluge of photographs from the prince's role as a charitable ambassador".

In true royal style, a royal gun salute was sacked at Cardiff Castle, Wales, for the milestone birthday of the Prince of Wales, as well as at Tower Bridge, and a 41-gun salute sounded out from Green Park in London.

In the photos, Prince Charles sits on a bench with wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

He added, "His enthusiasm and energy are truly infectious; it has certainly inspired William and I to get involved in issues we care passionately about and to do whatever we can to make a difference".
